Summer Camp

Odyssey in the Hills - 2010

We think that you will find this year’s summer camp program an exciting opportunity for your child to enjoy some down time while still “growing their brains”.  Montessori materials will be used periodically so your child does not lose the academic gains they have made during the school year. 

This year we will add a water day.  Children will be assigned one day a week to play in the sprinklers, use the water tables and, in general, cool off with water fun.  More information will follow as we near summer.

Normal tuition rates will apply to year round students and the all-summer visiting students.  There will be a onetime summer supply fee of $165.00 to cover extra activities, supplies and t-shirts.

Your child can attend one or more Camp sessions.  Sessions 1 – 4 will be charged at a rate of $550.00 per session (summer supply fees are included in this tuition).  Session 5 will be $275.

Session 1               Our Universe Uncovered – June 14^th – June 25th

Gather the facts on the galaxies and learn what makes up the universe.  Help turn our commons room into a model of our galaxy the Milky Way.

Session 2               The Solar System Search – June 28^th – July 9^th

An in depth study of our Solar System.  Learn about the sun and the eight planets that make up our small portion of the universe through out of this world activities.

Session 3                Space Exploration – July 12^th – July 23rd   

Study the ways man explores the vast reaches of space.  Build your own mini rover and enjoy a special evening “Moon Day” celebration on July 20^th.

Session 4               Constellation Connections – July 26^th – August 6^th

Twinkle, twinkle little star.  What is a star?  Why do they twinkle?  What are those groups of stars?  What’s the story behind them?  Create your own constellation viewer.

Session 5               Alien Adventures - August 9^th – August 13^th

Silly art and games about our “possible” space neighbors.  Create an Alien and a spacecraft for him to visit you in.  There will be loads of creative writing in this fun filled camp.
