Marie received her Bachelor of Arts in Studio Art from Lewis and Clark College in Portland, Oregon with a minor in Russian Language. She has worked with children and art at various institutions, including the Portland Children’s Museum, the Di Rosa, and the Thinkery in Austin. She comes from a family of educators; her mother teaches special education in California, her uncle is a tutor in Hawaii, and her aunt is a retired preschool teacher. She is originally from Napa, California, and moved to Austin in 2016.
Ms. Marie is a practicing artist and enjoys exploring art with children and watching them discover the world around them. She loves that the Montessori model of education encourages children to learn through exploration by engaging with materials. She loves that in a Montessori environment children are guided to discover things independently and encouraged to be independent thinkers.
