Cookies for Kids’ Cancer – September 2012

It is a sad reality that the main reason more than 25% of children diagnosed with cancer do not survive is from lack of funding for effective therapies. The mission of Cookies for Kids’ Cancer is to raise money through hosting bake sales, where all the proceeds go towards funding research for new and improved therapies for pediatric cancer, and School in the Hills partnered up with them.

Our students were so excited at the opportunity to help the Cookies for Kids’ Cancer’s cause and did an amazing job preparing all the cookies for the sale. Our chefs prepared 2,000 cookies including oatmeal-raisin, chocolate chip, M&M, and sugar. The Primary children helped placing sticker labels on all the cookie bags while our Kindergarten and Leadership children worked hard to fill each bag with cookies and carefully seal them.

On Friday, September 14th, our Kindergarten and Leadership students held a bake sale at School in the Hills. Our students raised $1,222.22. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for your support and generous donations. We hope you enjoyed your cookies!

School in the Hills Sent Some Love! – February 2012

Our February community service project benefited the American Heart Association. We had a card decorating table set up for parents and children to make and send Valentine cards to others. They were also able to buy hugs and kisses to spread the love around. The mail system was run entirely by our students. Our Toddler and Primary students sorted out the mail, and our Kindergarteners delivered it. It was a fun experience for everyone! The children got a glimpse of how the postal service works. They enjoyed making, delivering, and receiving valentine cards. Through your support, we were able to raise $381. We greatly appreciate it!
